A morning brief of what to act on

One short brief each morning with the decisions waiting on you, the notes that disagree, the promises past their date and the spend ahead of plan, every line ending at a page from the workspace.

For a hosted workspace and its own AI; a hosted workspace used from ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor. Not for GBrain installed on a computer you look after.

The few things that need a person today

A workspace holds more than anyone rereads. Projects, people, companies, promises made on calls, two notes that ended up saying different things. The Morning Brief reads all of it overnight and writes one short page in the morning: not what happened, but what needs you.

Four kinds of line, and nothing else

  • Decisions waiting on you. The choices the memory has recorded as open, with the date they were due. These are the ones holding someone else up.
  • Where the memory disagrees. Two notes that say different things about the same thing now. A fact a later note replaced is history and stays out.
  • Slipping. Commitments past their date, the team’s own and the ones owed to the team, with how late each one is.
  • Ahead of plan. Spend recorded above a budget the memory holds. It appears only when both figures are there, and it quotes both.

Three mornings out of five it is three or four lines. A line that is not worth five seconds is left out, and on a morning with nothing to say the brief says “Nothing to report” in one line.

Every line carries the note it came from

Each line ends with a link to the note it came from, and that note is one the morning’s reading actually opened. A thing that has no note behind it is left out, and the run records what it left out, so a line nobody can check never reaches the brief.

A thing stays until it is settled

The brief is not a feed. A decision still waiting on Thursday is still waiting on Thursday, and the line says since when, so it reads as the same thing and not as a new worry.

Turning it on

Open the Skills tab and start Morning Brief from its row. The first run happens straight away so you can see the brief before it repeats.

On a workspace with an AI of its own, the Schedule page holds the time it runs: the morning and the days are yours to set, in your own time zone. It accepts 7:30 on weekdays.

On Personal there is no Schedule page. The AI you connected runs the brief as one of its own scheduled tasks, from the words on the skill’s own page, and “run the brief” starts it again whenever you want.

What it does not do

It only reads. It never settles a disagreement, closes a promise, edits a note, or writes to anything the team connected. It reads what the memory holds, so nothing is in the brief that nobody wrote down.

For the narrower question, whether the business is alive and where the team is dropping the ball, Are we dying reads the money from Stripe or the bank. The Morning Brief needs nothing connected and says nothing about the business’s health.
