New Relic in the terminal

New Relic monitors apps and infrastructure. Connected to a workspace, GBrain can answer “why did checkout get slow at 3pm?”, tie an incident to the deploy that preceded it, or summarize the week’s alerts.

The connection only reads.

  • Query telemetry with NRQL
  • Look up services and hosts
  • Investigate alerts and incidents
  • Check what changed around a deploy

Install the CLI, then connect New Relic

New Relic is connected on its own sign-in page, in the browser. A key or a sign-in never passes through the terminal.

# Install the CLI
curl -sSL https://gbrainio.terminalwire.sh | bash

# Set the terminal up and connect it
gbrainio terminal connect

# What New Relic is, and each of its commands once it is connected
gbrainio tool help new-relic

The installer is a shell script for macOS and Linux. Read it before you run it.

New Relic's commands come from New Relic's own server once it is connected, so none are listed here.

Same tools, any AI

Claude Code, Cursor and Codex reach the same New Relic through MCP, on the same permission and the same record.

How the whole thing fits

One level per application, one daily limit, one record, across every AI and terminal that asks.
