GitHub in the terminal

GitHub is where most software is written and reviewed. Connected to a workspace, GBrain can answer “what shipped this week?”, file an issue from a bug report, or summarize a pull request before review.

Installing takes a GitHub personal access token. The token’s scopes decide what GBrain can reach.

  • Search repositories and code
  • Read, file and update issues
  • Review pull requests
  • Check Actions runs and security alerts

Install the CLI, then connect GitHub

GitHub takes a key, pasted in the browser and kept encrypted on GBrain's servers. A key or a sign-in never passes through the terminal.

# Install the CLI
curl -sSL https://gbrainio.terminalwire.sh | bash

# Set the terminal up and connect it
gbrainio terminal connect

# What GitHub is, and each of its commands once it is connected
gbrainio tool help github

The installer is a shell script for macOS and Linux. Read it before you run it.

GitHub's commands come from GitHub's own server once it is connected, so none are listed here.

Same tools, any AI

Claude Code, Cursor and Codex reach the same GitHub through MCP, on the same permission and the same record.

How the whole thing fits

One level per application, one daily limit, one record, across every AI and terminal that asks.

Tools is $19 a month for one person. Get Tools, connect GitHub in the browser, and say how far each terminal and each AI may go with it. Change any of it, or take all of it back, whenever you want.
