AWS Knowledge in the terminal

AWS Knowledge is Amazon’s public server for AWS documentation. Connected to a workspace, GBrain can answer “is this service available in Frankfurt?” or look up the current way to set up a feature, from the docs rather than memory.

It reads public documentation only. Nothing to sign in to, and it never touches an AWS account.

  • Search AWS documentation
  • Read a documentation page in full
  • Get related recommendations
  • Check which regions offer a service

Install the CLI, then connect AWS Knowledge

AWS Knowledge is public, so there is nothing to sign in to. A key or a sign-in never passes through the terminal.

# Install the CLI
curl -sSL https://gbrainio.terminalwire.sh | bash

# Set the terminal up and connect it
gbrainio terminal connect

# What AWS Knowledge is, and each of its commands once it is connected
gbrainio tool help aws-knowledge

The installer is a shell script for macOS and Linux. Read it before you run it.
