What GBrain can do with SNOMED CT

SNOMED CT is a clinical terminology used in electronic health records in more than 80 countries, maintained by the not-for-profit SNOMED International. Connected to a workspace, GBrain can answer “is 22298006 still an active code, and what does it sit under?” across the International, US and Australian editions.

Every tool only reads, and the server holds no query content between requests.

  • Look up concepts by code or name
  • Check that a code exists and is active
  • Walk the hierarchy: ancestors, children, descendants
  • Expand value sets with ECL

From the command line

GBrain gives SNOMED CT a command line too. From a terminal, a script or Claude Code, gbrainio tool help snomed-ct lists its commands once it is connected.
